Glamour Doll Eyes Haul
Glamour Doll Eyes recently contacted me about reviewing some of their shadows. I was really excited because I had been wanting to try them our for forever now thanks to Jacqueline AKA A Brilliant Brunette. Naturally, I asked her opinion on which 6 shadows to pick out since she knows the line and knows my style. I got my package insanely fast and could not wait to swatch and share with you guys. I have not actually used the shadows yet so this is just a swatch post.
I really love the fact that GDE constantly reminds us that they do NOT want us to lie about the product and they want completely honest reviews. They even sent this cute little flier to let us know that they appreciate an honest review. I love this. I’ve dealt with companies that cannot handle anything less than a perfect review.
These are the 6 Eyeshadows I picked out; Angel Wings, Veteran, Chocoholic, Phyrra, Glam Girl & Tattooed. At first glance I thought “Why did I pick such similar looking colors?” but as I got to swatching them I realized they were actually very different. All the shadows swatched beautifully and they were all very silky and soft.
I love the label on the eyeshadows and that they are all sealed.
Angel Wings – “Angel Wings is a very pearly white with a hint of purple sparkle.”
This is a really pretty color and love the subtle cool tones to it. The purple is more noticeable when foiled.
Veteran - “Veteran is a shimmery dark navy blue with lots of red sparkle.”
WOW this color is soooooo amazing! I have an insane number of blue eyeshadow (and almost didn’t get this because of that) but the red sparkle makes it so unique! Every blue eyeshadow lover must own this!
Chocoholic – “Chocoholic* is a deep brown copper color.”
Ok so I’m definitely not a brown kinda girl but something just told me that I needed to get this color and I am SOOOO glad I did. This color is so rich and far from boring. I’m really looking forward to using this and creating a brown look that isn’t “boring”.
Here are the swatches for Angel Wings, Veteran & Chocoholic both dry and foiled. So pretty!!!
Phyrra - “Phyrra (pronounced fear-ah) is hot pink with aqua sparkles. The picture doesn’t even do this color justice, its truly gorgeous! This color is inspired, named and created by a good customer named Phyrra. This color is NOT vegan.”
Ahhhh I just love this color. I absolutely needed a color like this and plus it’s named after Phyrra so how could I pass up on it. I find that this is a very cool toned pink that leans purple. You can really see the purple tones when it is foiled.
Glam Girl - “Glam Girl* is a super bright purple!!”
Glam Girl is that perfect cool, medium purple that everyone needs. The finish is just lovely!
Tattooed – “Tattooed is a very unique blend of matte and shimmer. This color includes a bright blue mixed with a gorgeous shimmery purple.”
Tattooed is very interesting because it looks purple but swatches bluer than you’d expect and is even more blue when foiled. It’s amazingly vibrant when foiled!
Here are the swatches for Phyrra, Glam Girl & Tattooed.
GDE was sweet enough to create a discount code for my readers. Just use the code “NYMPHETTE” for 15% off any purchase of $25 or more. The code is good until December 4, 2011. This code isn’t applicable on collections, Glamour Gloss, insurance, quads or tower.
Stay tuned for some looks using these wonderful shadows!
