I missed out on getting a Sugarpill palette when I was at IMATS in June and since I’ve been back I’ve been obsessing about getting either the Burning Heart palette or the Sweetheart palette. After going back and forth for awhile, I finally decided I wanted the Sweetheart palette. I absolutely needed a pink like Dollipop, blue (Afterparty) is just my color, Midori is a color I don’t have and I’ve heard so many great things about Tako. So I go to order and died a little when I saw that Sweetheart was sold out!!! Amy was sweet enough to gift me a “special” AKA defective Sweetheart palette. She swore up & down I wouldn’t think she was so sweet when I saw the palette but honestly the shadows were barely dented. I was at the point where I would have taken a severely mangled Sweetheart palette so I was pleasantly surprised.
I got a sweet note from Amy as well as some awesome Sugarpill stickers and of course my Sweetheart!!
Be warned this post is picture heavy… It’s like I couldn’t stop photographing this palette. It’s so damn pretty.
Dollipop is described as a vibrant, matte hot pink and that’s exactly what it is. Honestly if the rest of the palette sucked I’d still shell out $34 just for this color. I have nothing like it and it’s so vibrant!!!
Afterparty is a bright blue with an awesome satiny, pearl sheen. You know I am fanatical about blues and still I don’t think I have a dupe for this in my stash.
Midori is a pretty, intense green with a slight pearl finish to it. It is amazing in texture.
Tako is a beautiful, matte white. It is the chalkiest of the bunch. I hate to use the word chalky because it isn’t horribly chalky. It’s just chalkier than the other 3. It’s actually a great matte white. Matte whites tend to be hard to work with.
So have you guys ever been so excited about a product when you first get it that you want to play with it even when you have about 15 minutes to get ready? (Please just say yes so I don’t feel like a maniac) This was the case for me today. I was rushing to get ready but I just HAD to play with this palette. I literally spent about 15 -20 minutes on my makeup today. Can I just say the shadows blended like a dream because it ended up being plenty of time for me. I will definitely do more thought out looks with this palette in the future.
Can I just say I’m loving Dollipop with my new Pink Ombré tips?
I did use Urban Decay Black Dog (Black Palette) to define my crease.
Those of you who have followed me for awhile probably know that I’m not one to get sucked into overly hyped products. I will actually stay away from them simply because of that. I am so glad Sugarpill lives up to it’s awesome reputation. I will own their whole line one day…. That’s a promise.
