Guest Blogger : Anna of Fenua Beauté
I’ve decided that because I don’t do a tradition blogroll, I would start publishing guest posts from some of my favorite bloggers. I seem to gravitate towards the same type of blogs and Anna’s blog is exactly the type of blog I love to read. I’m a highly visual person so a blogger with amazing, colorful looks and awesome photography will win me over every single time. Anna is
the QUEEN of circle lenses. Not only does she actually rock the look insanely (I’m personally not a fan of them on most) well but she constantly reviews them and boy does this girl know her stuff. Her looks are unique, creative and bright!!! Doesn’t hurt that she is ridiculously adorable either. Her looks are usually accompanied with a pair of circle lenses that complement the look perfectly. Anna is also a singer/songwriter and just embodies the word artist. Anyway, long story short, I love this girl so check out her guest post. Also, check out and subscribe to her amazing blog Fenua Beauté and you can also follow her on Twitter.
In honor of my Caribbean roots, I recently did a lot of exotic summer looks, including this one in which I mainly worked with Sleek Make Up’s currently released CuraÁao palette and Sugarpill’s loose eyeshadow in Goldilux. I used M.A.C’s 263 brush to create a fine eyeliner-like line.
I got these colour contacts during my stay in Japan at the weirdest drugstore on earth. They sold tons of circle lenses, fake nails and I even spotted some Japanese gal models. Yet they also offered octopuses in plastic bags and Asian high-end brand clothing. It was so colourful I couldn’t take it, thus I purchased the lenses and immediately left the store.
To create an even, flawless canvas I usually apply the tiniest amount of moisturizer, then add a mattifiying primer (due to my oily skin) and apply BB cream in a circular motion, since BB cream is a rather thick, heavy foundation, which can easily end up in a cakey mask. I then add a hint of blush onto the apples of my cheeks and use a foundation brush to apply the tiniest amount of compact powder to finish the look. On very dry days I always carry a fixing spray with me (Holika Holika’s Bulgarian Rose Mist or M.A.C Fix+) and a small kabuki brush to brush away the sweat (of course I clean it at the end of the day).
