Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Shadow POP Blue Eyes

The Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner palettes come in 4 different color palettes to enhance your specific eyecolor.  This is just an initial review since I have not used it yet although I can usually tell the texture of a shadow by swatching.  The Pop Collection is meant to be bolder and brighter than their normal eyeshadows.  I don’t normally do bronzey shades but these look gorgeous!  The packaging says it can be used wet or dry but we all know that that is marketing and all shadows can be used wet and dry.

I actually quite like the packaging.  It’s simple and yet sturdy.  It isn’t gaudy like some drugstore products can be.  I also like how it is completely transparent so I can see what is inside.  It is also nice and compact which makes it a good traveler.  Obviously, I will be tossing the “brush” that comes with it.

This is what it looks like opened.  It has a sturdy looking hinge on the top of the case.

Here is a better shot of the shadows without the lid covering it.

The back is clearly marked with the name of the product.

These colors swatched amazingly well.  The Natural shadows (first 3) were the least pigmented but still pigmented.  The first shade is very hard to photograph but it was a white tone with blue irridescence.  The rest of the shadows photographed pretty true to life.  None of these shadows are overly sparkley or sparkley at all for that matter.  They are more of a metallic or pearl finish with no chunky glitter.  The Playful shadows (second set of 3) and Dramatic shadows (last 3) were a lot more pigmented than the Natural.  All of the shadows were very smooth and not chalky whatsoever.  The last color in each trio is meant to be used as a liner but I would use it as a crease color… to each his own.

I’m pretty excited about using this palette.  It’ll give me a reason to use some bronzey colors.

These palettes retail for $10.95 each.
